Do You need Yoga Retreat?

I am back from Spain, back from everyday sunshine, intense fragrance of flowers and herbs, sounds of crickets and the river. I spent 5 days almost entirely outside, close to nature, feeling the air, the Sun and refreshing river waters on my skin. Pure joy for the senses.

I took some time off and spent 5 days at The Sound Medicine Festival in south of Spain. I can honestly say that it was the best gift I could give myself this year, allowing me to retreat to take care of my body, my mind and my heart. The simple tools of yoga, meditation, breathwork, intuitive dance, the gongs and the healing sound of my own voice allowed me to restore the balance withing in just a couple of days.

In our daily life, when our focus is external, into the world, on other people, it’s so, so easy to forget about ourself. We keep telling others and ourselves that we’re fine, that everything is ok. But the thing is that no matter if you’re going through a difficult time right now or your life is perfectly fine, we all need to pause, we all need to relax from time to time, because when the mind is loud, the world around us even louder, it may be difficult to hear our body and the whispers, desires of our heart.

Take a moment to check in today, check in with yourself, your body, your nervous system, your soul. Do you feel connected? Do you feel balanced? Strong and rested at the same time? Do you have space in your body to breathe? Are you even allowing yourself to take a deep breath?

Spending some time connecting with your own needs, with practices like yoga, meditation, healing sounds of the gongs, surrounded by likeminded people who are, just like you seeking relaxation and meaningful connection can be very powerful and even transformational. Few days of a retreat like this can change the way you feel in your body, the way you see and experience the world around you.
